ART ON A MISSION
TRASH PICKERS & PLASTIC POLLUTION

Mickaël has been dedicating the past 4 years to assisting the children of Suwung, a trash-pickers community on the east coast of Bali, WHO LITERALLY LIVE IN TRASH, at the foot of a 40m high giant trash mountain. A major part of the art sales has been dedicated to bringing daily meals, clean water and education to the kids, in collaboration with the NGOs Ragam, Bali Life, BKCF and Kasii. More Info here
By purchasing a piece of art you are CONTRIBUTING TO CHANGING LIVES, and raising awareness about the alarming level of plastic pollution in Indonesia, 2nd largest ocean polluter in the world.
ABOUT THE ARTIST

Originally from the South of France, Mickaël is a multidisciplinary award-winning artist whose work blends physical form, image, sound, movement, and words. He studied at the prestigious Beaux-Arts School, where he began exploring the emotional power of storytelling through diverse media, including painting, photography, video, music, and, more recently, discarded plastic.
Mickaël’s journey is marked by constant reinvention. As a filmmaker, his movies have screened at over 180 international festivals, including Cannes and LA Shorts Fest, earning numerous awards. As a musician, he achieved chart success in the UK and Iceland. Across all his disciplines, his work is united by a commitment to creating stories that inspire empathy and change.
Based between Europe and Bali, Mickaël is the founder of Plastic Angels, an ambitious art and humanitarian project transforming plastic waste into monumental multimedia artworks. These creations address environmental degradation while giving voice to those living on the margins, especially the children of Suwung, Bali’s largest landfill. Proceeds help fund daily meals, clean water, and education for underprivileged youth.
His work invites viewers to look beyond the surface, revealing stories buried in our waste, the resilience of forgotten communities, and the potential for transformation through collective care. At its heart, Mickaël’s art is not bound by form or medium; it is driven by purpose, emotion, and a deep belief in the power of creativity to help build a more conscious, compassionate, and beautiful world.
